Privacy policy
crickedle is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what little we handle, and how advertising and cookies work on this site.

What we store
Your progress, stats and settings are stored locally on your device. To show community “how many people solved today” numbers, the app sends a random, app-generated identifier together with the mode, date and number of guesses to our stats service. That identifier is not linked to your name, email or any personal information, and we don't use it to track you across sites.
What we don't do
We don't ask you to sign up, we don't collect your name or email, and we never sell your personal information.
Advertising
crickedle is free to play and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads on our guide and blog pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
Cookies & consent
The game itself does not use cookies — your progress lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. Advertising cookies are set only by our advertising partners as described above. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message (a Google-certified consent management platform) before any advertising cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the same message. Where consent is declined, only non-personalised ads may be shown; these still use cookies for essential purposes such as frequency capping and fraud prevention.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. crickedle holds no account of you — the only data under our control is the random identifier described above, which we cannot link back to you. For advertising data, use the opt-out links above or the consent message. For anything else, email us and we'll help: hello@crickedle.com.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how the site performs (pages visited, approximate region, device type). Google Analytics may use cookies for this. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default and are only used if you accept them in the consent message; without consent, Google Analytics receives only cookieless, non-identifying pings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use analytics data to identify you, and we never sell it.
Third-party content
Images load from TheSportsDB, Wikimedia and an image proxy; those requests are subject to those providers' own policies.
Children
crickedle is a general-audience trivia game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
